'EZ-ID' bill working its way through the Legislature

STURBRIDGE — How long can you remember the sequence of letters and numbers on the license plate of a moving vehicle?

Even if you get a good look at the plate, unless you write the information down soon thereafter, you'll probably forget the specific order fairly quickly.

Countless criminals have benefited over the years from society's general inability to provide accurate license plate information to police, but Gary Richard aims to make it much easier with his EZ-ID license plate enhancement system. EZ-ID, a public safety bill currently in the Massachusetts legislature, requires the usage of universally recognizable symbols on general issue license plates (this does not include vanity, low number, and specialty plates).
